This route is a mixed terrain Audax ride that features every year in March and is a real highlight on the Audax calendar put together by volunteers and ran by Gareth Evans aka The Melbourne Randonneur.
Starting in the charming town of Yarragon, The Gippsland Gold is a tour through The Strzelecki Ranges and some of Gippsland finest gravel roads. It comes in three types – 100km, 160km (this ride) or the 200km!
Highlights include sweeping views at the top of Yarragon South Rd climb, townships of Boolarra & Mirboo North, the plantations of Darlimurla and Livingstone, the iconic Grand Ridge Rd and the stunning descent down Yarragon-Leongatha Rd back into Yarragon.
