I chanced upon this route from the website at Bicycle Queensland which has some other fantastic gravel rides listed up in QLD.

Mt Nebo, located in the D’Aguilar Range boasts lush rainforests, eucalyptus forests and can be accessed by the wonderfully scenic Goat Track (gravel) which wriggles up the side of the mountain from the rural town of Samford Village.

Once up there, you can take in panoramic views of Brisbane, Moreton Bay, and the Glass House Mountains or stop for a coffee at “Cafe in the Mountains”.

From there, the route takes you on South Boundary Rd Trail which is a multi-use track suitable for horse riding, trail running, mountain biking or you can take your gravel bike through there too! Just bear in mind that while completely ridable, there are a number of steep gradients and bumpy roads.

We took bike paths out from Brisbane but you could choose to start this route anywhere along the route, we just wouldn’t recommend riding it in reverse.
