The Roaming Foxes is Melbourne’s newest cycling club based in The Port Phillip / Bayside area.
Here are some frequently asked questions while we establish a website for ourselves..

What are The Roaming Foxes Cycling Club (RFCC) about:

  • RFCC is a community based cycling club based in Melbourne, fostering a culture of inclusion, friendship and support among social and competitive riders across various disciplines including road, gravel, MTB and e-sport (Zwift).

Do I need to be a member to join?

  • Yes you will need to join as a member to join in on rides and access our Facebook or Teams app pages (read on for info on Teams app).

How do I join?

  • Sign-up for either AusCycling or Bicycle Network membership and ensure that you nominate RFCC as your club.
  • AusCycling: To join RFCC an an AusCycling Member, you will need to nominate RFCC as either your primary club or as an add-on club. If you already have an AusCycling membership, there is a process available to transfer your primary club to RFCC.
  • Bicycle Network: To join RFCC as a Bicycle Network Member, a non-race club membership is required. This membership includes all the benefits of Bicycle Network membership while still riding and supporting local clubs.
  • Once you’ve got your membership and nominated RFCC as your club, you are ready to join the following applications:
Facebook – Roaming Foxes Cycling Club
    Stack Team App (Roaming Foxes)
Strava Club – Roaming Foxes Cycling Club
Instagram @roaming_foxes (This is a public site open for anyone to follow)
Note: if you have a different name of any of these applications to your name on your membership. please email roamingfoxescc@gmail.com with the relevant details to avoid any delays to the processing of your membership.

Where can I get updates about rides, training camps and social events?

  • TeamApp is a smart phone or web app that lists all our rides and events. It provides an opportunity to nominate yourself as attending or not-attending rides or events – this helps ride leaders and event organisers with their planning. If you have indicated you are attending a ride and it is cancelled due to bad weather, TeamApp will send a notification (if you have notifications enabled) – this can be very helpful first thing in the morning.
  • Specific requirements for each ride can be found on TeamApp. This will include vital details such as ride leader, dress of the day, average speed, experience level and elevation.
  • If you have any questions around this, reach out to one of our ride leaders or to roamingfoxescc@gmail.com.
  • Facebook is used for the more social aspect of our club such as sharing photos. There will also be information posts about upcoming events or rides, however for specific details, you should check on TeamApp.

Do I need an RFCC team kit to ride?

  • You are encouraged to wear the kit on club rides as it helps keep everyone together and also looks great! However, there are times when it is compulsory for safety reasons such as our early morning bunch rides which involve rolling turns. On these rides your outer layer (ie. jersey or gilet) must be club kit.
  • Weekend, social rides and training camps may be more relaxed.
  • Note: As a new club we have just finalised our new kit. We can’t wait to wear it and it is due to arrive mid May. For new members or those that need more kit, we will try to open the kit store fairly regularly to ensure everyone can have access to our kit.
If you want to be as cool as a fox, get the kit and join us!
